Ain Shams University, as the third Egyptian university, was founded in July 1950 under the name of "Ibrahim Pasha University".

University honors its sons

Ain Shams University honors the icons of science and global creativity of its sons Pr. Farouk El-Baz and Eng. Hani Azar at the seventh international conference of Ain Shams University under the title of "Internationalization and Mobilization".

Different Kinds of Student Activities

Ain Shams University is keen to open the way for students to practice various activities that develop their skills and abilities. Activities include various cultural, sport and artistic aspects to scientific competitions.

Al Zafaran Palace

It was built in the style of the palace of Versailles in France; it dates back to 1870 in the Khedive Ismail era, built on the ruins of the "Palace of the Stone". The palace witnessed many of the historical events that took place in Egypt.

Building Your Knowledge

The Central Library; was founded in 1950, upon the foundation of Ain Shams University . It is an academic library, so its visitors are University staff members, students, researchers,and adminstrators from the university.

About ASU

Ain Shams University, as the third Egyptian university, was founded in July 1950 under the name of "Ibrahim Pasha University". It participated with the two earlier universities, "Cairo University" (Fua'd the 1st ) and "Alexandria University" (Farouk the 1st) in fulfilling the message of universities and meeting the increasing demand of youth for higher education. When it was first established, Ain Shams University comprised a number of distinguished faculties and academic institutes, which were later developed into university.
